Will Anyone Ever Break Tom Brady’s Touchdown Record?

Tom Brady Greatest of All Time
Will Anyone Ever Break Tom Brady’s Touchdown Record?

Records are meant to be broken. The game is becoming more favorable to the offense with all the rule changes over the years. When Dan Marino retired in 1999 he had the most career throwing Touchdowns by a large margin with 420 touchdowns. Now he’s not even in the top 5.

With Tom Brady retiring this off season with a record 649 touchdowns will anyone break it? 39 years old Aaron Rodgers is only 174 touchdowns behind Brady but seems to be slowing down and might call it quits any time. The closest active players Matt Ryan, Matthew Stafford and Russell Wilson seemingly don’t have a shot.

Young Stars Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen are the best bet. With health and longevity being the biggest question mark, both actually have a shot at it at their current pace. At 27 years old and 192 touchdowns currently Mahomes would break the record if he averages 39 touchdowns per year for 12 more years, certainly a possibility. Josh Allen has a bit more work to do at 26 years old and 138 touchdowns. He would have to average 37 touchdowns over the next 14 years. We’ll see what happens but either way it’s going to be fun watching both QB’s dual it out over the next decade.
