What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

It was something that ran in my family and my older brother played football and that’s probably what sparked my interest. I have been playing since 1st grade.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

I really enjoyed high school football in general playing with my friends and being able to compete at the high school level and playing in state playoffs. In college probably my sophomore year when we upset Indiana State who was ranked I loved being a part of that.

What sets you apart from other running backs?

Versatility, I can pretty much do anything you need me to. I can run inside, run jet sweeps, and catch the ball. I have really tried to develop my pass catching skills since I got into college. Also my pass blocking I feel like I am a really good pass blocker and also my ability to play on special teams I can return punts and kicks and be the gunner.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I would say I’m a pretty high energy guy especially in game. I’m always on the sideline as an optimistic thinker always trying to bring the energy up when it is needed.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Shaun Alexander, just because he’s a running back and from the same area as me. He made a huge impact in the game as well.

What are your favorite things about playing football for Dayton?

The comradery with the guys we are all from different parts of the country and come together and bond and I’ve made some lifelong friends.

What should we know about Jake Chisholm the person?

I’m very driven and determined to succeed. I’m really focused athletically and academically, I want to go to medical school if football doesn’t work out. I’m just a driven person.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

Outside zone, it just gives me alot of freedom with what I want to do. I make a really big vut back and get past the defense. It’s one of my favorite plays we run at Dayton because I can stick my legs into the ground and go.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I’d say I would try to rely on my relationships with other people like in life my parents, friends and girlfriend and on the football field I ask my coaches and teammates. I think it’s huge to rely on your teammates so they can rely on you.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Somebody who is going to work his butt off. Really good work ethic always willing to get through things even if it is hard. Be the first one there last one out.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

Probably our experience now especially offensively we had a lot of young guys last year and I think they have really improved especially our offensive line and I’m excited for what is in store for is this season I think we will be successful.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Ryan Principata, he is my best friend and in high school we had a couple guys who went to fbs schools and I think he was right up there with those guys.
