What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Throughout my entire life I’ve always been involved in sports. Whether it’s football, basketball, baseball, or track I’ve always loved the competition. But football quickly became my favorite. Starting in 2nd grade I knew that I wanted to be a football player. The blend of physicality and skill is something that I fell in love with immediately and is still something I love about football today.

Which teammate goes hardest up against you in practice?

Nolan Reeve is one teammate that I love going up against. He is one of the best backers in the country, so any opportunity I have to go against him only makes me better.

What sets you apart from other running backs?

I think probably my drive and the fact that I can learn an offense quickly. Also, I have good hands which gives me that extra dimension catching the ball.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

Teamwork, patience, and the confidence knowing that those around you have your back and you have theirs. Football is the ultimate team sport, it takes 11 guys working together all at once to be successful.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Some of my favorite moments in my football life would be the playoff run Colorado School of Mines made in 2021. Also, celebrating the 3 consecutive conference championships we’ve won with my teammates.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

Champ Bailey was always my favorite player growing up. His work ethic and devotion to preparation was always something I respected. Even more so now that I am playing college football and striving for a future in the NFL.

What should we know about Michael Zeman the person?

I am loyal, faithful, and a hard worker on and off the field. I will go out of my way to always be there for my family, friends, and teammates. My Christian faith is very important to me so it gives me a strong foundation to live by.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

I love running inside zone and power. Getting my shoulders downhill allows me to be physical in the hole and fight for those extra yards.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

Prayer and perseverance are the basis for tackling any challenge I’ve faced. Trusting that God has a plan allows me to push through any challenge and become better because of it.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Teams would get a player who is committed, and gives his all in everything he does. A team player willing to do anything it takes to help his team.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

During games I like to stay focused on the task at hand. I try to keep a level head despite how the game is going. But I love to be with my teammates on the sidelines and celebrate their success when I am not in.

How do you prepare for games?

Of course all the weekly prep, eating well, staying hydrated, studying film, and learning the game plan. On game day, I like to get to the stadium early, listen to music, and warm up on the field before to get my mind right.
