Tampa Bay Buccaneers player tweets Anti-Asian Slur and then follows it up by apologizing

Carlton Davis, the cornerback from Tampa Bay Buccaneers tweeted a slur on Sunday Night, and is now apologizing for it. Davis who is part of the teams social justice board, wrote “Gotta stop letting g—- in Miami”.
The tweet has been deleted, but it was not before everyone caught wind of the tweet.
The young cornerback apologized saying he will “retire that word from his vocabulary”.
I would never offend any group of people, you reporters can look for another story to blow up. The term was towards a producer claiming he ran Miami.
I used a term that from where I come from has always meant “lame”but I did not realize it has a much darker, negative connotation. I have learned a valuable lesson and want to apologize to anyone that was offended by seeing that word because we need to focus on helping each other — C-Murda ™ (@Carlton_Lowkey) April 5, 2021
Davis had a solid season for the Buccaneers this year. HE recorded 68 tackles and four interceptions last year. He is in the final year of his contract with the team.
