Only 5 RBs have had multiple 1,000-yard seasons at 31 or older
Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton are just two of just five players to ever hit 1000 yards more than once after hitting the 31 year old mark. Adrian Peterson is closing in on the record and I am pretty sure he will hit that mark as well.
This is a pretty interesting mark considering the players on this list and looking back at all the good running backs. 1000 yards is not a lot, it averages out to 62.5 yards a game. Most running backs get the ball 20 times in a game. All you have to do is average 3.125 yards a carry to hit that mark every game. That is not much folks. It just shows you how important it is to have a solid running back.
Only 5 RBs have had multiple 1,000-yard seasons at 31 or older. Emmitt Smith, James Brooks, Walter Payton, John Riggins, John Henry Johnson.
