Calvin Johnson declined comment on DeadSpin article saying he has been playing with a PCL tear
Calvin Johnson would not comment on the DeadSpin article that reported that he could be playing through a torn PCL injury.
Back in Week 5, Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson sustained a knee injury that kept him out of a game against Green Bay. A few days later, we received a tip:
I have a close friend who went to the Detroit Lions’ doctor to get reconstructive knee surgery, and the doctor told my friend Megatron’s injury is a partially torn PCL.
Now, you can disregard this e-mail because I’m just a guy on the internet, but I can guarantee you it’s true. Just letting you guys know.
That was from a reader in the Deadpin article, well tonight when Calvin Johnson was asked about his injury he declined to comment.
“Y’all will have to ask me those questions on Thursday,” he said after a Christmas Eve walk-through. “I don’t want to talk about that stuff.”
Johnson has had another productive season, hauling in 84 catches for 1,492 yards heading into Sunday’s season finale against Minnesota, but had to endure near-constant knee pain to post those gaudy numbers.
