Detroit Lions release TE David Ausberry and OL Darren Keyton
Following Tuesday’s practice, the Detroit Lions made a pair of roster moves, both involving the injured reserve list. Specifically, they put offensive lineman Darren Keyton on IR, and they also released tight end David Ausberry from IR.
Ausberry played college football at Southern California. After redshirting in 2006 Ausberry would go on to be a productive member of the Trojan team for the next 4 years. In that time he logged 64 receptions for 700 yards as well as 7 touchdowns.
Keyton’s move to injured reserve is no surprise given that he suffered a “significant” knee injury in the Lions’ preseason opener last week. The injury came on Keyton’s first and only play of the game, and it resulted in him being carted to the locker room.
@kmeinke: Lions now saying they’ve waived/injured Darren Keyton, not put him on IR
Lions have two roster spots open right now.
