Dolphins are cutting their Pro Bowl punter to save cap space

fieldsDThe Miami Dolphins plan to cut punter Brandon Fields in a cap clearing maneuver designed to create $3.1 million in cap space. This may just be a cap savings move, and they could try to re-sign him at a cheaper rate according to Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel.

Miami #Dolphins plan to cut former Pro Bowl punter Brandon Fields if he doesn’t restructure his contract.

According to Kelly, there’s a possibility Fields could restructure the final two years of his existing deal, which was slated to pay the 2013 Pro Bowl punter $7.18 million.
