2025 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Elijah Arroyo, TE, University of Miami

Elijah Arroyo fits right in with the recent trend of athletic pass catching tight ends garnering hype in front of the upcoming draft, and rightfully so. Arroyo’s ability as a receiving weapon should make him a coveted asset come draft night. As an athlete, Arroyo is one of the best in his position in his class. He is a very smooth and fluid mover with good speed despite coming off a major knee injury. While he didn’t have a ton of production at Miami, he demonstrated reliable hands and a good catch radius, and was open much more then his stats suggest.

He possesses immense upside as a threat after the catch based off of his raw athleticism alone, but he transitions quickly from catcher to runner and is an explosive threat in space. He is a twitchy route runner for his size and position, and showed his ability as a route runner at the senior bowl. At the top of his routes, he is very physical and snaps off his routes to create separation against man coverage, however, he struggled with physicality off the line. Arroyo is not a great in-line blocker but competes. He struggles to sustain his blocks but he doesn’t have much power in his hands.

Arroyo also doesn’t have that Kelce like sense of awareness of zone coverage that really helps quarterbacks in scramble drill and is an area to improve upon at the next level. In terms of my projection for him, I think Arroyo is best suited on Day 2 to a team that uses more of an H-back or big slot tight end like Cincinnati or Miami due to his lack of value in-line, but Elijah Arroyo is certainly a player who has his best football ahead of him and could stand to be a valuable addition to any NFL passing attack.
