Female arrested in connection to the shooting of Auburn football player Brain Battie and his brother

Nicole Roberts, the girlfriend of Darryl Brookins Jr., 28 has been arrested in connection to a shooting that happened in Florida that left two brothers injured, with one dying from his injury.

According to police, Roberts, 29 was arrested on Friday for allegedly throwing the gun that was used in the shooting into a river. She is the girlfriend of Darryl Brookins Jr., 28, who was arrested for shooting Auburn running back Brian Battie and his brother, Tommie Battie IV. 

Unfortunately, Tommie died from his injuries. Brian Battie was hospitalized and placed on a ventilator after he was shot, according to his coach. Brian is still fighting for his life.

The driver of the car was eventually seen walking onto a dock located behind a house in Bradenton and dropping the gun into the Manatee River.

Deputies said the stature and body type of the female captured on video matched Roberts. Cops then followed the car and later seen Brookins exiting the car. The police searched the area near the dock and found the gun, a Glock 9mm.
