1.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

• If I could, I’d hang with Jalen Ramsey. I can relate to his confidence/attitude on the field and uses that energy to elevate his play. Not many guys have that ability like we do. #NoleNation

2. What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

• I decided I wanted to play football again my senior year of high school. I stopped playing for some years due to an injury and recognized it was my opportunity to play in college or probably my last chance to play ever again, so I knew I had to go all in. I played most of my life until that point, although senior year and freshman year of college is when I really knew I could be a special guy.

3.What are your favorite things about playing football for Winston-Salem State?

• My favorite thing about playing for Winston-Salem is the energy on gameday. The sounds (the band), the colors, the media, the people, the food, the overall atmosphere just gives me a wholesome and quality HBCU football experience. When you go anywhere you recognize how things are and we all have our particular ideal of what we want them to look like, and overall Winston has done plenty to give us the best and I will always appreciate them for that.

4. How do you prepare for games?

• On game days I always have to start my morning with water, fresh air and some yoga. I try to eat light that day and listen to music that helps me lock in while I get some fresh gear together and head to campus. I do a lot of stretching throughout the day and make sure I have enough Pedialyte to feel how I need to feel after halftime or on the sidelines. Before the game I always praise and try to watch players who inspire me to go make a play myself. Everything pregame is mental so I try to have a routine and limit distractions.

5. What should we know about Kameron Kendle the person?

• Personally, I feel as if there is no one else like me. From an athletic/player standpoint, emotionally and psychologically, I’ve always felt as if I was different since a young age. Also I am extremely focused, determined, and always looking for leadership opportunities.

6. What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

• The energy I bring to the field really depends on the position I’m playing at the time. Offensively I am aggressive like a defensive player but swift as any other receiver you’ll find in the conference. My combination of size, strength, and speed make me a deep threat and regular chain-moving guy all in one. Defensively know I’m a presence, I can be extremely aggressive and one of the most impactful players on the field once I’m in that mode.

7. What sets you apart from other wide receivers?

• What sets me apart is my experience on defense. My aggressiveness at the line, through the jam, makes it difficult to slow me down at the start of the route and with my experience playing DB I know where they’re trying to send me based on their alignment and spacing once I get set for my route.

8. What are your favorite moments from your football life?

• My favorite football moment was either scoring my first touchdown or winning my first team MVP trophy. I can’t really choose between the two because when I think back to myself those are the main and most significant memories and I don’t want to put one above the other necessarily.

9. What do you love about the game of football?

• I love the culture, I love the energy, I love the game. I love how the game doesn’t always love you back and how unpredictable it can be. The ability to be the best player around one minute and need to earn your keep the next gives me some sort of… adrenaline.

10. What would a team get in a player like you?

• A team that picks me up will get a player with leadership qualities, on-field attitude, and someone who can and will provide guidance for the younger guys coming in.

11. What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

• This season I’m really looking forward to being back in the locker room with my teammates before we run out for a game day. Sometimes it’s the simple things. With COVID closing everything this past year and a half to two years a bit of normalcy will create a lot of peace of mind. Our homecoming this year should be pretty intense and hopefully we have a good turnout.

12. What is your favorite route and why?

• SLUGGO – My favorite thing about the slant an go is there are so many ways to run the route and get open regardless of how the defender decides to cover. You can use your strength at the line, agility in your slant or breakaway speed on the go portion, and all can result in a touchdown.
