Byron Perrilliat Explodes for 223 Yards, Earns Pittman’s Pocket Hyperice Freshman of the Week Honors

Alabama A&M true freshman running back Byron Perrilliat has officially made his presence known.

In a performance that deserves national HBCU football attention, Perrilliat erupted for 223 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 16 carries, averaging an extraordinary 13.9 yards per carry as Alabama A&M defeated Florida A&M 40–21.

That performance has earned Perrilliat recognition as the Pittman’s Pocket HBCU True Freshman All-American Nominee and the Hyperice Freshman of the Week.

Perrilliat, a 5-foot-11, 182-pound freshman from Jefferson, Louisiana, entered Alabama A&M after playing at Riverdale High School. While the transition from high school football to the HBCU level can be significant, Perrilliat demonstrated that he possesses the explosiveness and big-play ability necessary to make an immediate impact.
