Baker Mayfield Injury Update: The Injury Woes Continue for Bucs Quarterback
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without quarterback Baker Mayfield for at least the next several weeks after the veteran quarterback suffered a dislocated right thumb during Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Mayfield suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter while attempting to make a desperation throw on fourth down.
His throwing hand collided with Vikings linebacker Blake Cashman during the play, and Mayfield immediately went to the ground in significant pain.
The initial X-rays did not reveal a fracture, but the Buccaneers ordered an MRI to determine whether there was additional damage to the thumb.
