Keyshawn Johnson Sues Agent Chris Ellison Over Alleged Unpaid Commissions

Keyshawn Johnson the former NFL superstar has filed a lawsuit against NFLPA certified agent Chris Ellison for not paying him a finders feel. According to the lawsuit there is some pretty wild information in this suit.
First off, it is illegal to pay a finder’s fee to a person, because a rule was put in a play a long time ago called the runner rule. It is illegal to have a runner, and it sounds like Chris Ellison was allegedly using Keyshawn Johnson as a runner to land star prospects.
Here is what we know right now:
- Plaintiff: Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson
- Defendant: Sports agent Chris Ellison
- Claim: Nearly $1 million in unpaid finder’s fees
- Filed: Civil complaint in Los Angeles (as reported by TMZ.com)
Key Allegations:
- Johnson claims he’s owed one-third of the 3% commission Ellison earned from contracts negotiated for players Johnson recruited.
- Johnson asserts he connected Ellison with four NFL players:
- Deommodore Lenoir (49ers, CB)
- Jaylon Johnson (Bears, CB)
- Mike Hughes (Falcons, CB)
- Romeo Doubs (Packers, WR)
Response:
- Chris Ellison has denied all allegations made in the lawsuit.
Potential NFLPA Implications:
- According to a certified NFL agent, the NFL Players Association requires full disclosure of third-party compensation arrangements.
- If the players were not informed of Johnson’s involvement, this could be a compliance issue for Ellison.
- Non-disclosure could result in disciplinary action by the NFLPA.
Status:
The legal matter is ongoing.
