Tevin Shipp: The Underrated LB Every NFL Team Should Know

Tevin Shipp is one of those players who leads with his actions. Whether it’s anchoring the middle of the defense or grinding in the weight room, the UT Martin linebacker has always let his game do the talking—and after a strong Pro Day performance, people are definitely listening.
Standing at 6’2″, 235 pounds, Shipp backed up his film with an impressive 8.91 Relative Athletic Score (RAS), showing off the kind of all-around athleticism that NFL teams are always searching for. His 4.25 short shuttle and 7.05 3-cone highlight just how fluid and quick he is in space—especially for a guy with his size and physicality. Add in nearly 34-inch arms, 10.38-inch hands, and a 1.60 10-yard split, and it’s clear: Shipp brings the traits to match the tape.
And that tape? It’s rock solid.
A hometown product from Smyrna, Tennessee, Shipp stayed close to home and carved out a legacy at UT Martin. He was a key part of multiple championship teams, including the Skyhawks’ 2023 Big South-OVC title run, and finished his final season with 61 tackles, 5 pass breakups, 5 quarterback hurries, 4 TFLs, and a sack. His name consistently popped up in the box score, and even more on the film—making plays from sideline to sideline, blowing up run fits, and dropping into coverage with confidence.
Shipp’s consistency year over year is what stands out. He got better each season, stepping into bigger roles and never backing down. Whether it was racking up 9 tackles in big moments against Charleston Southern and Samford, or forcing a fumble late in the season, he showed up when his team needed him most.
But beyond the stat sheet, Shipp brings a level of discipline and maturity that coaches love. He’s made the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll multiple times and is majoring in health and human performance—a guy who clearly takes his work seriously on and off the field.
Before college, Shipp was a force at Smyrna High School, where he earned Region 5-6A Defensive MVP honors and was known for his leadership, physicality, and playmaking ability. The Travis Weber Courage Award he won says a lot about the kind of character and heart he brings to the game.
Now, after years of steady growth and a strong showing in front of scouts, Tevin Shipp is ready for the next level. He’s smart, athletic, experienced, and battle-tested. Whether it’s special teams, a rotational linebacker role, or growing into a starter, Shipp is the kind of prospect who can quietly carve out a spot and stick in the league.
