What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
Growing up my brother played football and watching him and seeing his games and then I told my dad I wanted to play and my first couple of years were rough but then I got the hang of it and I fell in love with it.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Of course winning championships and I won a lot including with my brothers and that was fun and I also won a state championship and that was probably my top favorite moment ever so far.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
Aspirations to play in the league at a high level, improve my football IQ and maintaining my strength and those are the two things I’m focused on right now.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?
Warren Sapp, not only because he was a great defensive lineman but he loves being outdoors and I do too and I would love to just be on a lake talking ball with him.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My mom and dad, my dad worked hard to put me just to get me where I am today and my mom did so much to put food on my plate and other things to keep the house stable and they both have done so much for me.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
3-4 really just becomes a toughness battle up front and me being a nose guard I love being up on the center old school and the front seven being 7 on 7.
What should we know about Ricky Correia the person?
I’m really an outgoing person and defensive linemen get a reputation of being a crazy guy who loves contact and I’m like that on the field but off the field I’m an easygoing guy who loves nature.
What stands out about your film the most?
My versatility as a defensive lineman and usually nose guards are one technique but I’ve played everywhere and you can put me anywhere and I’ll be successful and I also just go out there and be dominant on the field.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I’m a big believer anytime you see an obstacle you just have to go and give it your all each and every day and power through it and when you get past it, it’s better for you in the long term.
What would a team get in a player like you?
Teams will find a guy who loves to win and will find ways to win and be reliable.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
How violent it gets, some people don’t realize it’s a game where you can legally dominate a guy for four quarters and this is what I love to do and that’s why I play defense not offense as well, so I can hit people.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Nate Burrell, he’s currently a player at Cal, he has all the skills to be a great player in the NFL, has a great work ethic that gets overlooked and I think he has the stuff to make the NFL.
