Three Players the Buffalo Bills Should Target in the Second Wave of Free Agency

The Buffalo Bills have spent the early days of free agency focusing on key roster moves, but the work isn’t done yet. As the dust settles from the initial frenzy, the second wave of free agency presents a valuable opportunity for general manager Brandon Beane to address lingering needs without breaking the bank. This phase often reveals overlooked talent — veterans seeking the right fit, younger players looking for a fresh start, or role players poised to make a big impact.

With strategic additions, the Bills can bolster their depth, improve key positions, and solidify their roster ahead of the upcoming season. Here are three players Buffalo should target to keep their Super Bowl aspirations alive.

Larry Ogunjobi – Ogunjobi was released by the Steelers this week and has a knack for pushing the pocket. Ogunjobi is a versatile and powerful interior defensive lineman with six seasons of NFL experience. Drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, Ogunjobi has also played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers. Known for his quick first step and ability to disrupt plays in the backfield, he’s been a consistent presence on the defensive line.

Leonard Floyd – Leonard Floyd is a dynamic edge rusher known for his athleticism, versatility, and ability to pressure quarterbacks. Drafted ninth overall by the Chicago Bears in the 2016 NFL Draft, Floyd has since played for the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills. He was released moments ago by the 49ers and racked up 8.5 sacks last year in 17 games. The Bills need a pass rusher and Floyd would be an amazing addition, again.

Asante Samuel Jr. – Asante Samuel Jr. is a talented and instinctive cornerback known for his quick footwork, ball skills, and playmaking ability. Drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers, Samuel has quickly established himself as a key contributor in the secondary. The son of former All-Pro cornerback Asante Samuel, has inherited his father’s knack for reading quarterbacks and jumping routes. Remember the elder Samuel was an All-Pro under Sean McDermott in Philly.
