Lamar Jackson’s Record-Breaking Performance Cements His Place Among NFL’s Elite Quarterbacks
In a commanding performance, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson completed 16 of his 19 passes (84.2%) for 280 yards, throwing three touchdowns with zero interceptions. This near-flawless game earned him a perfect passer rating of 158.3, the highest attainable mark, as the Ravens surged to a 41-10 victory over the Denver Broncos.
With this game, Jackson now holds the record for the most career games with a perfect 158.3 passer rating (minimum 15 attempts per game), totaling four. This achievement surpasses NFL legends including Pro Football Hall of Famers Peyton Manning and Kurt Warner, as well as Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger, each of whom has three such games.
Jackson’s ability to consistently perform at a high level places him in rare company. He joins Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger as one of only three players in NFL history to achieve at least seven games with a passer rating of 150 or higher (with a minimum of 15 attempts per game).
Jackson’s 2023 season stats have been equally remarkable. With 20 touchdown passes and just two interceptions, he joins an elite group of only five players to start a season with 20 or more touchdown passes and two or fewer interceptions over the first nine games. This list includes Tom Brady (2016), Drew Brees (2018), Patrick Mahomes (2020), and Russell Wilson (2019).
In addition, Jackson’s 120.7 passer rating this season solidifies his place in NFL history as the fifth player to reach at least 20 touchdown passes and maintain a passer rating over 120 across the first nine games (minimum 100 pass attempts). This accomplishment aligns him with other elite quarterbacks like Brady (2007), Brees (2018), and Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning (2004 and 2013), as well as Aaron Rodgers (2011 and 2014).
With each game, Jackson continues to break records and reach milestones, establishing himself as one of the most efficient and prolific quarterbacks in NFL history.
