Jayden Daniels’ Historic Start on the Road Puts Him in Elite NFL Company
In just his fifth road game, Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels showcased his poise and precision, completing 15 of 22 passes (68.2%) for 209 yards, with two touchdowns and zero interceptions. His standout performance earned him a 128.8 passer rating, guiding Washington to a 27-22 win over the New York Giants.
Daniels has now compiled a remarkable 116.2 passer rating across his first five career road games. This feat places him in elite company, joining Dak Prescott (119.5) and Patrick Mahomes (115.2) as the only players in NFL history to achieve a passer rating above 110 over their first five road games (minimum 100 attempts).
In another record-breaking achievement, Daniels matched Dak Prescott as the only players to attain a passer rating of 90 or higher in each of their first five road games, further underscoring his consistency and resilience away from home.
Daniels has also set a new NFL record for completion percentage in his first five road games. With an impressive 76.9% completion rate (103 of 134 attempts), he has surpassed Prescott (71.6%) and Chad Pennington (70.5%) for the highest completion percentage in league history among players with a minimum of 100 pass attempts in their first five road games.
With each road test, Daniels continues to prove his talent and resilience, positioning himself as one of the most efficient rookie quarterbacks in NFL history.
