I know people will get mad about this take, but hear me out! The Bills need a wide receiver #1, watching Mack Hollins, Curtis Samuel, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling run around on the field while Josh Allen is running for his life, does not make sense.

The Bills lost Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs, and it hurts. Anyone that says it doesn’t is just trying to be a homer.

I think the Buffalo Bills need to give up a first-round pick to land Davante Adams. Here is why I think they should make this move.

Over the past 10 years, about 34-35% of NFL first-round draft picks have made it to at least one Pro Bowl. This represents 111 Pro Bowlers out of 319 first-round picks during that period. While first-round selections are often seen as the most promising players, this statistic shows that the chances of a first-rounder becoming a Pro Bowler are about one in three, and the success rate can vary by position.

Last year, the Buffalo Bills traded out of the first round to select Keon Coleman. The Bills need to give Keon Coleman someone else to learn from and look up to.

The Bills will struggle to get him under contract this year, but if the Raiders eat the salary cap this year, they can get a higher draft pick. Bills would then have to find a way to extend Adams long-term, which would make sense. The Bills will have 10 million to start the season next year, and by cutting Von Miller the Bills could save 17 million dollars. You also have to remember the NFL salary cap has risen every year. If it continues to raise, you can find a way to pay Adams long-term.

Trading a first-round pick to land Davante Adams could make sense for the Buffalo Bills for several reasons, let’s break it down.

Immediate Upgrade to the Offense: Adams is one of the NFL’s elite wide receivers, consistently ranked among the best in the league. Pairing him with Josh Allen would create a dynamic duo, adding another serious weapon alongside Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir. This would make the Bills’ offense even more explosive, especially in the passing game, as Adams’ route-running and big-play ability can significantly stretch defenses.

Super Bowl Window: The Bills are currently in the Super Bowl contention window, with a prime-aged quarterback and a competitive roster. Acquiring a proven star like Adams could push them over the edge in the AFC, which is full of powerhouse teams. While first-round picks can be valuable for future building, Adams offers a win-now mentality, which aligns with the Bills’ current objectives.

While the trade would be costly, the potential to maximize the Bills’ championship aspirations might justify the expense.

Do you feel it is worth it?
