Player Summary:

Senior. Transfer from Kansas State. Highly productive runner as both a college and high school player.  On the upper-tier in terms of size and strength: has a thick chest, broad shoulders, developed lower-half including big calves and a thick can. As a runner, he is above-average. More of a decisive, one-cut back who will likely be better as an inside runner than outside runner in the pros. Runs at a low pad level, lowers shoulder on contact, does a good job of protecting/squeezing the ball when running inside. Very good when catching out of the backfield – displays soft hands and good body adjustment to the ball. Displays adequate vision to follow blocks. Lacks burst yet is surprisingly shifty for his size; can make initial defenders miss behind the LOS. Has enough speed to turn the corner. Runs with above-average balance and can run through contact. Key drawback is lack of top-end speed and agility. Isn’t very explosive or twitchy and lacks an extra gear at the second level.  Can break away when he finds a big crease but doesn’t strike me as someone who will run away consistently from NFL-level defenders.  Has marginal speed but is also a big back. Is below-average in pass protection; struggles to diagnose and latch onto blitzing defenders.

Scheme Fit:

RB

Power Statement:

Jacardia is a solid day-three pick. He has above-average abilities as a runner, is a good receiver but below-average in pass protection. Showing he can protect the QB would increase his draft stock.
