What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Growing up I used to watch my big brother play and play backyard football outside with my cousins and I asked my parents to sign me up and the rest was history.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Winning the MEAC back-to-back this past year when we beat Morgan State that was special.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mother and dad, dad because he passed away and expected great things from me and my mother because I know she depended on me.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

Get back to the Celebration Bowl and end it the right way and ride off into the sunset.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Reggie Bush, growing up I used to watch Reggie Bush play because I was a Saints fan and I liked his game and try to model my game after him.

What are your favorite things about playing football for Howard?

The atmosphere and the fans pack out our stadium and we get good support for an HBCU.

What should we know about Kasey Hawthorne the person?

I’m a very humble and caring person and I like to make people laugh or I like to treat people with a lot of respect.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

Play action game, everyone on the defense reacts to the run and I like being one on one and I’ll take me every time.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

In life everybody goes through challenges but I have a good support system and ask people around me and on the field I ask my teammates or coaches to find a way to get better together.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Very hardworking, dedicated, willing to learn because I don’t know everything and willing to give it his all day in and day out.

What stands out about your film the most?

How versatile I am. I can do it in the receiver room and as a running back and that’s what makes me stand out.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Darius Fox, I feel like he’s a hidden gem and gets slept on and I don’t feel like he gets enough recognization as he should.
