Former NFL Draft pick Brandon Pettigrew was arrested and spent the night in jail after he punched and broke a glass door during an argument with police in a 7-Eleven in Texas.

According to TMZ Sports, the incident happened at around 2 AM at a 7-Eleven in Dallas — when police say Pettigrew became aggressive during an argument inside the shop.

As Pettigrew was leaving the building escorted by police he swung at the door causing it to break. The police pulled out their tasers, but did not have to use them on the 6’5 former first rounder.

Brandon Pettigrew is a former draft pick of the Detroit Lions. The former Oklahoma State tight end had a successful college career, showcasing his skills as a versatile tight end known for both his receiving and blocking abilities.

Pettigrew was selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round (20th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. Pettigrew had a promising start to his NFL career, finishing his rookie season with 30 receptions for 346 yards and 2 touchdowns before a knee injury cut his season short. His best season came in 2011 when he recorded 83 receptions for 777 yards and 5 touchdowns. This performance was part of a potent Lions offense that helped the team reach the playoffs. Pettigrew was known for his solid hands and blocking abilities. He was a reliable target for quarterback Matthew Stafford and played a crucial role in both the passing game and run blocking.
