What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
What made me choose the sport of football was me watching my hometown team the Browns every Sunday. I love the contact part about the game and the team aspect of the game.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Some moments that are my favorite from my football life is the day I started playing football because it got me to this point of where I am at right now with pursuing my NFL dreams. Another moment was playing collegiate football after a 4 year gap.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
What I’m looking forward to achieve in my career going forward is to get the opportunity to compete and show my skill set and leadership skills on the field and off the field.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
There’s a couple, but I’m going to pick Nick Chubb because it seems like we have a lot in common with personality and I want to pick his brain about the game.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My parents/grandparents because of the sacrifices they have made and the morales and values they have taught me since a young kid. I still carry those morals and values with me to this day.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
My favorite scheme is the spread because I ran that in college and high school. It spreads the defense as well and it makes it easier for running backs like me to go out for a route or run the ball.
What should we know about DJ Griffus the person?
The thing you should know about me is I’m a very strong minded individual, very intelligent when it comes to the game of football and life as well. I’m very persistent when it’s come to my goals. I love spending time with friends and family as well.
What stands out about your film the most?
As a running back I can go out on a route and make plays with my great catching ability, I’m very explosive and quick out of the backfield as well. Me having quick feet is very needed at my position and my vision is great as well. Another thing I can say is my reaction time is a great trait I have.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
When I meet challenges in life, I always go to my bible and pray because God is everything. It’s always a message that helps me when I go back and read it. I’m also very persistent as well so I’m going to keep fighting life. On the field when challenges occur, I always say a prayer to myself and breathe.
What would a team get in a player like you?
When a team sends me an opportunity they will be getting a dynamic offensive player, who can catch, run and block. I’m very explosive and I can play different positions if needed.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
What I love most about the game of football is the team aspect it has and makes you not think only about yourself but others. It also teaches you life lessons. When I’m stressed in life, I can go play and I’m feeling back to my normal self. Also the game of football created friendships for a lifetime as well.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with?
The most underrated player I’ve played with is a Reese Warmer.
