Could the Vikings turn to former NDSU quarterback Trey Lance as their future QB?

The Minnesota Vikings are in a very weird situation. They currently have Kirk Cousins on their roster, but he is set to become a free agent. The Vikings could have some steep competition though, because a report last night claimed the Falcons have become the front runner for Cousins services.
If this does in fact happen, where will the Vikings turn?
Rich Eisen was full of good little golden nuggets from the combine and one of them was a possible play for the Vikings to land a quarterback.
“A possible solve at quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings is a native of the state and his name is Trey Lance,” Eisen said. “Trey Lance is a possible solve for the Vikings. Now, the Cowboys kept him on the roster long enough to get a bonus. So they’re paying money to keep him. And as you know, they got him for a five. I’m just wondering if the Vikings flip them a three. A Friday night pick? Do they go ahead and do that?”
Yep, you read that right, the Cowboys back-up and former first round pick.
Lance, a Marshall, Minn., native, was the third overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2021 NFL draft, but was traded to the Dallas Cowboys after two seasons when injuries and the meteoric rise of Brock Purdy ended his time in San Francisco.
Minnesota does not currently have a third-round pick but does own two in the fourth. No. 109 and No. 130 could theoretically be used to trade for Lance. Dallas certainly could use the draft capital considering they only have three picks inside of the top 150.
Would the Vikings be willing to pull the trigger on Lance who has really not proven anything at the NFL level? I mean he was beat out in San Francisco by Brock Purdy. If the Vikings did do this, they better still try to add someone else. Trey Lance is a very interesting prospect but I am not sure I would want to base my season on him.
