Is Kyler Murray already trying to make excuses if he does not improve on the field?

The Arizona Cardinals made a mistake when they drafted Kyler Murray. I know people think he is a talented quarterback and I will be honest he is, but he has some baggage too.
The Arizona Cardinals put a film-studying clause in his contract and had to eliminate it after the media caught wind of it because it made Murray look bad. Murray has the athletic ability and has made some really insane plays but let’s face it he is not a franchise quarterback. He is not a great leader, a great leader embraces the suck and gets the job done.
Murray seems to always be looking for excuses. In a recent interview, Murray was talking about leadership and his skills and he said he will be coachable for his new offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, but if that is not working, everyone needs to take a look in the mirror. This was his quote:
“I’ve got to respect the person or understand the ins and outs or the rhymes and reasons for what we are doing ,” Murray said, via Darren Urban of the team’s website. “I’m going to listen. I’m going to be coachable and I’m going to do it to the best of my ability, but if the [expletive] ain’t working, at some point, we all have to look in the mirror. As far as growing from my rookie year to now, learning how to be one with your emotions, understanding how to talk to people. Some people are able to take the harsh way, and I am naturally that way, or do I need to give them a little love and that’s part of the quarterback position. . . . And what can I do better, how can I be better, how can I make the guys around me better? It’s a team sport. We all have to be locked in.”
What would the coach need to take a look in the mirror for? It almost sounds like Murray is waiting for the system to fail. I think it is the wrong approach, and I think it will backfire on him. His backup right now is Colt McCoy with rookie Clayton Tune waiting in the wind. I would not be shocked if Tune ends up the starter, and Murray is traded before the trade deadline. Murray is questionable to start the season still but it could be a long road ahead of him if a rookie comes in and shines in the system Murray is unsure of.
