The University of South Florida tragically lost a former football player when his body was discovered in a waterway in West Palm Beach.

The U.S. Coast Guard retrieved the body of 32-year-old Jon Lejiste around 9:30 Friday morning in the Lake Worth waterway, east of Spillway Park, between Harbour and Yale drives.

The family had reported him missing to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office over the weekend. The medical examiner believes there was no foul play in Lejiste’s death. His family has been notified of his death.

Former Bulls quarterback and Bulls Club Assistant Director of Development BJ Daniels paid tribute to Lejiste on Twitter. Daniels and Lejiste were teammates during the 2009-12 seasons.
