What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2024 NFL Draft?

I cannot only do the job, but I can do it well. I bring a sense of urgency to all phases of the game that I contribute to. That could be on the offensive side of the ball or special teams. You can’t ask for a more coachable player than I will be.

At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?

I was about 10 years old when I would go watch my older cousin play at his high school football games. At that point, it was all she wrote.

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?

I have a never-ending drive to succeed both on and off the field. I am a guy that won’t go unnoticed for too long. I will be ready to jump in and always go. But I am willing to wait my turn and shine when I get the chance. I can be a great leader on and off the field. I will bring consistency to my performance every day in practice and when it comes time for game day.

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?

Be The Match Registry – Our registry is the connection between patients searching for a cure and life-saving bone marrow donors. As the most diverse donor registry in the world, we help more patients get the transplant they need. After hearing people come to our school over the course of the time that I have been there. You can change a life in an instant and it’s such a selfless act as a person. I have been on the registry myself for the past 3 years. I advise you to look further into it after this read.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

More like a quote, I saw a very well-known one.

“It’s never as good as it looks and it’s never as bad as it seems.”

“Be careful.” As with anything, take an honest look at both sides because the easiest person to deceive is yourself.

Who was your childhood hero?

My cousins David & Davon were prominent figures in my life. They introduced me to football, and they were the first ones in the house to go to college. They showed me that I could do it even though we grew up where we did.

Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?

Collectively as a group, I think everyone in the locker room has some untapped potential. I firmly believe that this season will display a lot of that throughout each game we play. As you look around the locker room everyone in there is finding new ways to get better and enhance their game.

Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?

Being as young as I was when Hurricane Katrina happened, I didn’t quite understand what was going on. But for my family, I think that was one of those defining moments in life. Being able to adapt and adjust to such a traumatic moment in life has set up how I have built my character over time.

Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?

Being a part of a winning tradition is a blessing as a football player. The Kingsville community truly exemplifies the meaning of football fans. Kingsville has shown me nothing but love, starting out as a transfer guy coming in from a Juco and working my way up the ladder. The journey has been full of experiences, ups, and downs. I also believe that the will of God will not take you where the grace of God will not protect you. I almost forgot a tradition as old as I am that Kingsville does is they throw tortillas after every Kingsville touchdown. Score a touchdown and the tortillas will fly.

What is your favorite snack food?

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana before I moved to Texas. I’d like to think I love me some Gumbo. It’s been my favorite for years and I love it when my cousin makes it.

What is the best part of football?

Being a part of a team and being able to watch each other succeed. Football has a lot of great things about it but being a big part of so many lives is great. You get to experience life with your teammates. You get a great chance to positively affect someone’s life.

If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?

“I would describe myself as positive, self-sufficient, supportive of teammates, passionate about my hard work, and someone who can be relied upon to help my team in big-time moments.”

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

It would definitely be Tyler Lockett. He’s a smart player and good on his feet. He’s a killer at catching the go-ball as well. He can play both the outside and the slot which is important at the pro level. Most of all he is a great teammate on and off the field. He brings consistency to the game as well. One thing that we forget when it comes to a piece of his game, is that you can also put him on the return units, and he will dominate. He is disciplined and well-coached. A guy you want on your team.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

I would have dinner with my sister. I would tell her I love her and I miss her. We never got to officially meet. I guess time heals all wounds.
