The Small Schoolers hearing their names called on Draft Day continue to decrease. Only 12 small school football players were drafted this year. That is down big time from the years past. Last year 22 small schoolers were selected and this year the number dropped to 12.

There were 10 FCS players selected and 2 Division 2 players. Not one player from Division 3 or NAIA were selected in 2023. It is going to get harder and harder to make it from a small school. With the transfer portal happening, more and more players are leaving FCS schools and transferring up for their final year.

I think a lot more small schoolers will make 53 man rosters than last year. There is something about players with a chip on their shoulders!
