Should NCAA Football have a preseason?

There have been some interesting takes on pre-season football for the NCAA, when Hugh Freeze mentioned the idea of playing other in-state teams in a preseason game to get things fired up, and now there is another big time coach talking about how he would love to have preseason games.

“I’d love it. I’ve said that a million years. I’d love to play somebody in the fall. We’re the only level of football that doesn’t get a chance to scrimmage somebody – even the pros,” Swinney told the press when talking about possibly having preseason games, according to On3.

“It’d be nice to bring somebody in and do some 1-on-1s against somebody else. I’ve said that for years. Every time you take a snap on a [practice] day, you’re 100 percent invested. If anybody grabs an ankle, they’re yours. You’ve got 22 on the field every single snap,” the two-time national champion further explained.

College Football will have a larger playoff format soon, do you think the NCAA Football should have pre-season games? Do you think it makes a lot of sense. I mean the teams currently play one another in a Blue/Orange game like Florida Gators do, but if they could face another team it may help them out in the regular season.
