NFL Draft Diamonds Owner’s Mock Draft | Damond Talbot’s 2023 Three Round Mock Draft

It is that time of the year and NFL Draft Diamonds owner Damond Talbot wanted to give you a three round Mock Draft for you to pick apart. I am not sure how this draft is going to play out, but I wanted to put a little fun on this draft and maybe shock a few people. I wanted to do a three round draft so Browns and 49ers fans could see some picks as well!

Hope you enjoy!

Round 1

  1. Carolina Panthers – Bryce Young, QB, Alabama – The Carolina Panthers traded up to one and need to take Bryce Young. I think they had the intentions of taking him from the rip, but when it comes down to it he is a safe pick.
  2. Houston Texans – Will Anderson, DE, Alabama – Texans select the best player in the draft. Many will question whether or not they made the right choice, but you cannot go wrong with selecting star pass rushers. JJ Watt, and Mario Williams worked out in the past.
  3. TRADE – Las Vegas Raiders – CJ Stroud, QB, Ohio State – Arizona Cardinals receive 7th pick, 38th, first rounder in 2024 – Raiders jump the Colts to select CJ Stroud. They couldn’t pass on the opportunity to land a star quarterback. Great move for the long term Raiders.
  4. Indianapolis Colts – Will Levis, QB, Kentucky – Colts settle for Will Levis who they love. They have not been afraid to admit this. He has been in on visits, and he has a big arm. He will be starting from week 1 and will have a great shot to win MVP.
  5. Seattle Seahawks – Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia – Seahawks can look past the off-the-field issues, because Pete Carroll is a good guy. Jalen Carter is still selected in the top 5 and will ball out for the Seahawks.
  6. Detroit Lions – Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon – Lions get the best cover cornerback in the draft, after trading away Jeff Okudah. They land a star in the making in Christian Gonzalez.
  7. Arizona Cardinals – Tyree Wilson, ED, Texas Tech – via Las Vegas Raiders – Arizona Cardinals receive 7th pick, 38th, first rounder in 2024 – Cardinals drop back from the Raiders and pick up a top 10 pass rusher. A much needed position for them.
  8. Atlanta Falcons – Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern – Falcons need to find a way to keep Desmond Ridder standing up, and adding a player like Peter Skoronski is a huge addition for them. He will be a solid player for them for years.
  9. Chicago Bears – Paris Johnson, OT, Ohio State – Bears were hoping Jalen Carter would fall to them at 9, but they take the safest pick in the draft. Paris Johnson will be an immediate impact player for the Bears for years to come.
  10. Philadelphia Eagles – Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois – Darius Slay was brought back on a one year deal and Devon Witherspoon will be a dog for the Eagles for years to come. This was a great pick at 10.
  11. Tennessee Titans – Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State – Titans continue to add weapons for their quarterback Ryan Tannehill. They decide to keep him and give him a weapon as well in JSN.
  12. Houston Texans – Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida – WOW, the Texans are patient and still land a top quarterback. The Texans luck out and land AR15 as well as the best pass rusher in the draft.
  13. New York Jets – Lukas Van Ness, DE, Iowa – Jets add a nasty pass rusher from Iowa, who fits the Robert Saleh mold perfectly. A huge addition for the Jets.
  14. New England Patriots – Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU – Patriots finally have a number 1 wide receiver. There are concerns about his speed but he is easily one of the best big wide outs in this draft class.
  15. Green Bay Packers – Dalton Kincaid, TE, Utah – Packers get the best pass catching tight end in the draft, and they are able to give Jordan Love a new weapon.
  16. Washington Commanders – Joey Porter, CB, Penn State – Ron Rivera loves gritty players and his Martin Mayhew’s son is on the staff at Penn State. The younger Porter is a Commander and will bring intensity.
  17. Pittsburgh Steelers – Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee – Steelers add one of the best offensive lineman in the draft, and they will find a way to protect Kenny Pickett for years to come.
  18. Detroit Lions – Nolan Smith, DE, Georgia – Lions add a pass rusher to line up opposite of Aiden Hutchinson. This may end up being one of the best pass rushing tandems in the NFL. Lions will bite your kneecaps off!
  19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Bryan Bresee, DT, Clemson – Buccaneers add a much needed defensive lineman with a motor. Bresee is a play maker who has been dominating offensive lineman since his high school days.
  20. Seattle Seahawks – Myles Murphy, DE, Clemson – Murphy is a premier rusher and will give the Seahawks another star off the edge. Adding Murphy and Carter is a nasty first round for the Hawks.
  21. Los Angeles Chargers – Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College – Chargers have some amazing players on their offense, but adding Zay Flowers to Keenan Allen and Mike Williams will give Justin Herbert three star wide outs to spread the ball too.
  22. Baltimore Ravens – Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas – The Ravens want to alleviate the pressure from their quarterback, so they go out and add the best running back in the draft. Robinson is a workhorse back that will help open up lanes for Lamar and Odell as well.
  23. Minnesota Vikings – Jordan Addison, WR, USC – Vikings lost Adam Theilen, but find a way to replace him and give Justin Jefferson a teammate. The Vikings do not skip a beat by adding Addison.
  24. Jacksonville Jaguars – Broderick Jones, OL, Georgia – Jaguars land a big boy who can play either side on their offensive line. Protecting Trevor Lawrence is a priority and this is a great signing.
  25. New York Giants – Brian Branch, S, Alabama – Brian Daboll needs some nasty in his secondary and he finds a way to add a Bama player who he knows a lot about. Branch will become a leader in the secondary.
  26. Dallas Cowboys – Calijah Kancey, DT, Pittsburgh – Cowboys wait patiently and Kancey the athletic defensive tackle falls to them. Kancey has a great first step and has a motor.
  27. TRADE – Los Angeles Rams – Hendon Hooker, QB, Tennessee – Bills drop to 36, pick up 167 in 2023, and a 2nd in 2024. Rams find their back-up quarterback who can learn from a Super Bowl winning quarterback. Hooker is not forced to do something right away but it gives the Rams a fifth year option from the young QB and gives them an option if Stafford decides to retire.
  28. Cincinnati Bengals – Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland – Bengals take the best player available and land a feisty cornerback with great ball skills to add to their already stacked secondary.
  29. New Orleans Saints – Will McDonald IV, DE, Iowa State – Saints add a pass rusher that will make the quarterbacks in the NFC South worried. He has an elite first step and is always around the ball.
  30. Philadelphia Eagles – Mazi Smith, DL, Michigan – Eagles lost a massive player in Javon Hargrave but found a replacement in Mazi Smith. Smith is a freak of nature for a big man and will come in and immediately rotate with the studs on their D-line.
  31. Kansas City Chiefs – Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame – Chiefs could use a wide out, but how can you pass on the most sure handed pass catcher in the draft. Patrick Mahomes gets another weapon opposite of Travis Kelce.
