Former NC State football player arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill

Hakim Jones the former leading tackler of the NC State Wolfpack was arrested and charged for a shooting in North Carolina.
Hakim Jones, 29, is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and two counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property.
Jones was on the N.C. State University football team from 2011-2015. He had 80 tackles during the 2014 season, which led the team.
Arrest warrants show Jones fired shots into two occupied apartments. Officers said shots were fired both inside and outside the suspect’s apartment.
Witnesses heard as many as 18 gunshots fired and then there was a pause and more shooting.
No one was hit by any of the bullets, but Raleigh police officers said one woman was injured from broken glass.
Jones if charged could spend quite a bit of time in jail.
