Texas running back is one of the best players in the 2023 NFL draft class. We are breaking down six of his best potential landing spots.

Bijan Robinson has been the consensus top running back in this class for a while and he certainly cemented that at the combine.

His 4.46 40 yard dash showed that while he might not have world class type of speed, he still has the type of speed to break off explosive plays in the NFL.

The question for Robinson isn’t whether or not he projects as a good running back in the NFL. It’s whether the NFL views running backs highly enough in today’s game to draft him highly.

There have been running backs to go in the first round in recent drafts, but it’s still becoming very rare.

Teams are coming around to the idea that taking running backs in the first round isn’t the best team building strategy. Thus, you need to be a special talent to go round one as a running back.

I believe the elite skillset that Robinson brings to the table, combined with the fact this isn’t a great draft class will result in someone selecting Robinson anywhere from mid first to early second round at the latest.

So, we’re going to be going through teams in that range that would make a lot of sense as landing spots for Bijan Robinson.

Best Potential Landing Spots for Bijan Robinson

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With the 19th overall pick, the Buccaneers are a potential landing spot for Bijan Robinson.

After releasing Leonard Fournette they have a need at running back. Plus, with no clear solution at quarterback they may look to add Robinson and try to focus more on running the ball with Robinson being the focal point.

Baltimore Ravens

With J.K. Dobbins on the roster the Ravens don’t have a need at running back, however Robinson and Lamar Jackson in the same backfield may be too tempting to pass up.

That combination in the backfield would somewhat mitigate their lack of talent at receiver as teams would have to commit more to stopping the run game.

Buffalo Bills

With the Bills’ struggles running the ball last season, putting Robinson in the backfield alongside Josh Allen is tempting.

Not only would they have two tremendous athletes in the backfield, but being able to run the ball with more consistency would take some of the pressure off of Josh Allen. On top of that, Devin Singletary is a free agent, so they may come into the draft looking to add a running back at some point.

Cincinnati Bengals

It looks like a strong possibility that the Bengals release Joe Mixon as it would save them over $7 million against the cap.

Offensive tackle would likely be the best area for them to address in the draft. However, in a scenario where a lot of tackles are off the board adding Robinson would be tempting.

Burrow has become very good at getting the ball out quickly and having someone like Robinson coming out of the backfield with his ability to make tacklers miss in the open field would make this passing attack even more dangerous than it is already.

Philadelphia Eagles

With Miles Sanders being a free agent, plus the Eagles also having the 10th overall pick to address other needs makes Robinson an option for their 30th overall pick.

Robinson running behind the Eagles’ elite offensive line would be a scary sight for the league. He would likely be the heavy offensive rookie of the year favorite and a top tier fantasy running back.

Arizona Cardinals

Obviously the third overall pick is too high for a running back, but Robinson could be an option for the Cardinals with their second round pick at 34th overall.

Kyler Murray will likely miss a chunk of next season, so drafting Robinson and relying more on the run game makes sense.

Plus, when Murray does come back, him and Robinson in the same backfield would be electrifying.
