Player Summary:
Previously a WR who converted to TE during the 2021 season. Knox possesses a decent frame with room to add weight. With him being a former WR, it shows his versatility as he often lines up out wide or in the slot. Carries the natural ability to make plays and is best when the ball is in his hands. Knox displays a good catch radius and excels at high pointing the football. Looks confident in his catching ability and uses his frame to box out defenders. Despite this, he lacks the raw athleticism to allow him to create separation from his defenders down the field. From the LOS, he lacks the initial burst off the line, and his route running could improve as well. Knox lacks the fundamentals of a TE and looks more fluid/comfortable when he’s lined up at WR. Struggles with hand placement on blocks and allows defenders to get their hands inside and control him. Displays inability to sustain blocks with faster skill players. Shows he has the strength to successfully drive his defenders back when his hand placement is correct. Needs to work on attacking his defenders on blocks. Loses leverage time to time and needs to play with more bend.
Scheme Fit:
F-TE
Power Statement:
Adds most value as a WR mismatch. His blocking is poor, but has reliable strong hands which can pose a potential threat, especially in the RZ.
