Player Summary:

The graduate transfer from Notre Dame. TE starter. Strong TE prospect with size and strength who exhibits above-average skills as a receiver and good run-blocking skills to add value to an NFL team. As a receiver, he is above average and getting more catches at BC than he did previously. Against Rutgers, showed he adjusts to the ball well high/low. Exhibits good hands in mid-air, and can bring down contested catches after taking a big hit. The biggest knock on him as a receiver is his route running/separation. Struggles to get off coverage and isn’t a polished route runner who can stack defenders at the top of the stem. Is sometimes late to release and get out of his stance at the LOS. As a run blocker, he is good. Does not get a lot of vertical movement but does enough to occupy blocks and create open holes. Has good inside hand placement and strike timing as a run blocker. Needs to work on developing more leg drive and bending his knees more, will occasionally bend at the waist and overextend. Flashed ability to slide his feet and pass protect. Versatile – can align in the backfield as well as flex out wide. Checks the boxes from a size standpoint. Looks very athletic; has a thin frame but should fill out nicely in an NFL weight program.

Scheme Fit:

TE.

Power Statement:

George is a strong TE prospect.  I would like to see him develop as a route runner and learn to separate better, but he exhibits good hands and good run-blocking skills that should add value to an NFL team.
