Talk about your experience as a student. What is your major/minor? Did you participate in any other activities or campus organizations other than football?

Major: Business Administration with a focus in finance

Minor: Communications

Extracurriculars: Male empowerment network – specifically men of color at a predominantly white school. I am the treasurer of the organization.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

My ability to get along with anyone – relating to people with different backgrounds and seeing where they come from.

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?

My role is being a hustler – getting the job done in any way I can while also leading the team in the right direction.

As a receiver I like being in the spread or working off the RPO – I’m featured more in the slot

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?

Dominique Ramsey – going against him in practice at Commerce

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?

Nic Hayes – a fellow receiver who is older than me. His work ethic is what has made him come so far. Really earned his role.

What makes you different from others at your position?

My hands and catching radius are above average especially for guys my size. I’m also able to take larger hits due to my experience running the ball in the backfield.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.

In my junior year of high school I started working at McDonalds – I had to learn to balance work life with my outside life and I did it successfully at a young age. Now I’m able to play football and financially support my family.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?

Soccer – it always has been a part of my family and I find it extremely interesting/entertaining

What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?

I was a nominee for the C Spire Conerly award which includes all collegiate divisions – known as the “Mississippi Heisman.” Still being recognized despite being at a smaller school meant a lot to me – even though Matt Corral ended up winning it.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.

My freshman year when I first transferred to Millsaps, I was one of the last on the depth chart at receiver. On my first play of the game (against Berry) I caught a touchdown on a seam route, that was my first catch at the school and it really felt like my college career had begun.

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?

My favorite athlete is Tyreek Hill – he shows smaller guys how to be productive on the field.

What gets you “pumped up” before a game?

Besides my playlist, sometimes I like to sit in absolute silence. It helps me focus on my priorities and what I need to do before and in the game. “Calm before the storm”

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?

I like to watch anime – big anime guy.

Why do you play football? Who or what motivates you the most?

I fell in love with football my sophomore year of high school and it has really helped me get through college. I believe this sport can push me farther through life.

What do you want NFL teams to know about you?

I’m a hard worker – I don’t believe things are given to you and that you have to earn it. When you’re an underdog like I am, you play with a chip on your shoulder. I think teams are looking for that more nowadays.

Other notes:

My first offer out of high school was Mary Hardin-Baylor, I was going to commit there right away but decided to wait until later on. I had a lot of Division II offers and a few Division IIIs. Eventually I committed to Texas A&M-Commerce coming off a DII national title. Unfortunately all the coaches who recruited me left to SFA and I didn’t want to be there anymore. I reached out to Millsaps and they still wanted me, but everyone else thought I was crazy because I had a lot of time to think about the original decision. Going to Millsaps worked out great, even though Commerce eventually became a Division I program.
