What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2023 NFL Draft?
The ability to do it all at a high speed. I’ve played 4 different positions in the span of my college career and I believe that I still could do that and compete at an elite level. I’m a big playmaker and play the game with a great amount of explosiveness.
At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?
At the age 7, I remember. 2007 Pro bowl and the infamous play I got to watch live where Sean Taylor comes down and absolutely drills this punter on a fake punt.
What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?
NFL teams should know that there is no task that is too much. Whatever is needed from any of my teammates or coaches is a done deal, no questions asked. I’d like to say my work ethic is unmatched.
If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?
Just to less fortunate kids. Being that, growing up and seeing all these superstars buying mansions, cars, and some of them won’t even bother to spend some money on helping a kid get his next meal. Give him just a little boost to chase their dreams. Doesn’t sit well with me and I want to step in and help out as best as I can.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
I guess my best advice comes from my favorite quote of all time. Henry Ford. He said, “Whether you believe you can or you can’t, you’re correct.” Which basically shows how strong and powerful the human mind is. Under distress, the weak-minded folks fold and the strong-minded people prevail.
Who was your childhood hero?
My childhood hero was and still is my mom. I understood what I thought was the full story at a young age. But being older now and just seeing how much more happened and what went on and how this world can be such an unforgiving and cruel place. And she made it feel like the happiest place on Earth every day. Forever indebted to her.
Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?
I would say myself. Defensively that is. I feel like no one on my team offers what I bring on and off the field. Offensively my boy Michael Moten. He’s such a sure-handed wide receiver and he gets the job done but doesn’t ever really get the shine he deserves. He runs full speed and has a crazy work ethic.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Liars
Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?
Moving from Hawaii to Las Vegas in high school most definitely. Such a big culture shock and I couldn’t see the long game that my parents were playing until now and I’m extremely thankful.
Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?
Li Hing Mui Sour Belts.
What is your favorite snack food?
The hitting. It’s been my favorite for as long as I could remember.
What is the best part of football?
There’s no limit to greatness and I want to be the one to find it no matter any amount of work that stands in my way.
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?
I’d like to say, Sean Taylor. From the playmaking ability to the physicality he brought to the game.
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Sean Taylor, Lebron James, Tupac. Sean Taylor because he’s my favorite of all time. Lebron James because he sees the world in such a bright light that I don’t think anyone has gotten to see before. I mean the man has been one of the best in the game for over 15 years which is absolutely crazy to me. On top of that, he’s been in the spotlight on a national scale since 8th grade, maybe even before that. Lastly, Tupac, because not only is he one of my favorite artists of all time, but same as Lebron. It was almost like he saw the world in such a different way, and I am a guy that likes to pick peoples’ brains and just see how they react to certain scenarios. For example imagine Tupac during all the Black Lives Matter times, COVID-19. Like such a crazy thought and I just would really love to pick his brain
