Former NFL football player arrested in Florida for pulling a gun on two off-duty police officers over a parking spot
Orson Charles was a pretty solid college football player and while his talents did not translate well into the NFL the former fullback is making the news outside of the game.
According to reports, former NFL football player Orson Charles was charged with aggravated assault on Friday in a Tampa neighborhood Ybor City. According to the police, Charles approached two off-duty police officers in a dispute over a parking spot and threatened to shoot them both with a gun he was carrying.
Road Rage is the case here. Charles wanted to park when the two off-duty officers beat him to the spot. Charles who is 31 now went to the driver’s side of the door, pulled a gun from under his shirt and threatened to shoot the officers. Then the officers showed Charles their badges, Charles did not care about their badges and continued to threaten them, before the officers left the scene.
Charles has since been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed firearm, per WTSP, both felony offenses in Florida.
Charles was a star at Georgia and would end up being drafted in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the Bengals. He spent time with several other teams playing a total of eight years in the NFL.
