Legendary Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan suffered from CTE during the time of his overdose death
Last May, Colt Brennan the former Hawaii star quarterback died after he reportedly overdosed on a combination of drugs that included fentanyl, methamphetamine, amphetamine and ethanol.
Well, according to a neurology professor in Boston who studied the brain of Brennan, the star quarterback suffered from CTE. CTE is a degenerative brain disease brought on by blows to the head.
Brennan was at a rehab facility in California when he was found unconscious. He would later die at the hospital, shortly after.
The report does not say Brennan suffered CTE from only football, because if you remember he was involved in a bad car accident back in 2010.
Please keep the Brennan family in your prayers during this tough time. Brennan was obviously struggling with drugs, but he was only 37. It is so sad that he is no longer here.
Brennan was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round (186th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. He was the 10th quarterback selected in the draft. On July 14, he signed a four-year $1.8 million contract. He would also play for the Raiders before eventually taking his talents to the CFL and the Arena Football League.
