Colts land Carson Wentz in a trade with the Eagles for the 85th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and a potential first in 2022
I am sorry, I am bias, because Carson Wentz is one of the best small school quarterbacks to suit up in the NFL, and I feel deep down inside the Philadelphia Eagles just made a huge mistake.
I know I will be crushed by the Eagles fans for this post, but Carson Wentz was not the problem and you will see that this year when Wentz suits up for the Colts. There were rumors that Wentz prefered the Colts over the Bears.
The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade quarterback Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts for a 2021 third-round draft pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first-rounder.
The Eagles will receive the 85th overall pick in this year’s draft, and the conditional second-rounder can become a first-round pick based on Wentz’s playing time. Wentz needs to play at least 75% of the Colts’ offensive snaps for the 2022 conditional pick to convey to a first-rounder, according to ESPN.
This is a huge win for the Colts. Yes, they have to carry his salary, but they are getting a veteran quarterback. They are not many players away from winning the whole damn thing. I think Carson Wentz will be an upgrade to Philip Rivers. We shall see, but this was a homerun for the Colts.
As for the Eagles, they had to get out his contract, but because of such a horrible contract they had to bite a bullet in compensation.
