The Colts need to call the Eagles after the season and try to pry away Carson Wentz
Frank Reich is a mastermind when it comes to quarterbacks. He has worked with some studs, and he loves working with guys he knows. The Colts this year went out and landed Philip Rivers. We all knew it was a match made in heaven with Rivers hit free agency.
Well, at the end of the year, the Colts will not have a quarterback under contract except rookie Jacob Eason. The Colts quarterbacks Jacoby Brissett and Philip Rivers will both be free agents. The Colts before re-signing one of them should call up the Eagles and float a draft pick or two for Carson Wentz.
Remember, Reich was the offensive coordinator with Wentz when the Eagles went to the Super Bowl. Frank Reich has to be watching what the Eagles are doing right now and thinking man they are killing him as a player.
Reich loves Wentz, and has said so many times to the media.
It makes me laugh because having been there two years, having been a part of the process of drafting him there and getting to know him the way that I know him, there’s just few people in this league that I think highly of than Carson. I know him very, very close. And I’m not just saying this to defend him, and I don’t need to defend him, his teammates are doing that quite well. But this guy is a humble guy. This guy is a competitor, though. He knows what he wants. This guy is a leader. This guy has so much stinkin’ juice, it’s unreal. So, I can understand how sometimes people are going to perceive things that aren’t true. But in this case, he’s another one of these elite quarterbacks that, what I used to be [impressed by is] he didn’t care one thing about stats. Like, at the end of the day, I love that about him. The two years that I worked with him, at the end of the day, he’s not a guy who’s checking his stat line because he wants to make sure he’s breaking this record. All he wanted to do was win. And ultimately that’s what told me more than anything else.
The Colts are not dumb, they traded away their first round pick this year and landed an All-Pro defensive tackle who had helped turned the Colts defense into a powerhouse. If he can land Carson Wentz next they could be Super Bowl contenders.
I know Eagles fans do not see it, but let me tell you something, your coach and offensive coordinator are ruining a very good player. Carson Wentz is by far the best player I have scouted at the FCS level in my entire life. He is not a pocket guy, he does much better when you use his athleticism. Doug Pederson and company are trying to turn him into a statue, and that is not Carson Wentz. He looks lost right now. I feel bad for him because he is a great kid.
If the Colts come calling and the Eagles are still in the top 10 to draft a QB like they are now (6th overall), they should make the move. If they plan on keeping Pederson as their head coach…..
