Fantasy Football: Week 15 Waiver Wire Report

Rashard Higgins Fantasy Sleepers
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins is a player that you may want to pick up because lately he has turned into a reliable weapon for the Browns.

By Craig Forrestal

It is semi-finals week and we are once again looking over our rosters determining where our weaknesses are and how we can patch up those holes. There isn’t much more to say other than trust yourselves and the sources you’ve used all year. Don’t get too cute. And remember points not names win you fantasy games.

Week 15 Waiver Wire Report

  • Jalen Hurts/ QB/ Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles, Jalen Hurts and Doug Pederson out Taysom Hill’d the Saints for a win in the debut start for Hurts. Hurts had 106 rushing yards and 167 passing yards with a score. While there was one minor hiccup with a fumble that created a Saints TD, but we won’t hold that against Hurts. He has been named the starter for Week 15 and should get to ride it out Week 16 as well. If you’re in need of a playmaker at QB and have been streaming all season here is your savior for the next couple of weeks. Week 15 & 16: @ Cardinals and @ Cowboys
  • Rashard Higgins/ WR/ Cleveland Browns: All of a sudden Rashard Higgins is being mentioned in contract extension talks due to his emergence as the WR2 in Cleveland after the injury to Odell Beckham. And why not? He showed up on Monday Night Football and registered 6 catches for 68 yards and a score on 10 targets; which were a team-high. Higgins scored and had 95 yards the week before. He gets the New York teams that play in New Jersey in Weeks 15 and 16, so they aren’t terrible matchups. However, if Higgins draws Giants CB James Bradberry then that could knock him down a peg or two in terms of weekly output. Higgins is a solid part of the passing game and it seems he and Baker Mayfield have a nice little thing going on. Week 15 & 16: @ Giants and @ Jets
  • Lynn Bowden/ WR/ Miami Dolphins: He has dual eligibility at WR and RB in Yahoo! Leagues so keep that in mind. Every Dolphins RB ever was hurt last week leaving us with the dynamic duo of DeAndre Washington and Patrick Laird but there’s more sprinkle in injuries to both Jakeem Grant and DeVante Parker and that is how Lynn Bowden finds himself to fantasy relevance. But don’t be confused by Bowden. He is a dynamic playmaker that can add value as a WR in the slot or from the backfield. He saw the most targets on the team and added 2 carries. Bowden should get another extended look this week. He could even call himself the Dolphins WR1 after his 7 catches and 82 yards against Kansas City. Week 15 & 16: Patriots and @ Raiders
  • Russell Gage/ WR/ Atlanta Falcons: He threw a TD, had 82 yards receiving, and he was really the only Atlanta Falcons player featured besides Calvin Ridley. While Laquon Treadwell, yes he’s still in the league, decided to vulture a TD last week that trend won’t continue. The Falcons will continue to feature Gage in the passing game because he’s one of the last men standing in that locker room. Consider him if need be but mostly you’re adding him to not get beat by him. Week 15 & 16: Buccaneers and @ Chiefs
  • Tim Patrick/ WR/ Denver Broncos: He’s scored in back-to-back weeks and has 6 TDs on the year so the production is there. While the Broncos offense can be inconsistent and scary to trust it is time we trust Patrick. He’s emerged as a primary red-zone option for Denver, as none of his 6 scores have covered more than 10 yards. Additionally, Patrick has posted 3 games of 100+ yards this season. Week 15 & 16: Bills and @ Chargers
  • Jeff Wilson/ RB/ San Francisco 49ers: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to this week’s edition of “As the 49ers RBs Turn”. Yep, you guessed we got more injuries in the 49ers’ backfield. Raheem Mostert left the game and needed an MRI on his ankle. I’m going to say he doesn’t play this week against Dallas because he needed an MRI which means most likely it’s at least a sprain. So fire up Jeff Wilson. The Cowboys couldn’t stop me from running the ball and I’m the definition of “Dad Bod”. Wilson should feast on this Cowboys, so-called, defense. Dallas gives up 133 yards per game to opposing RBs and Wilson saw about half the touches with Mostert in the lineup. Week 15 & 16: @ Cowboys and @ Arizona
  • Gabriel Davis/ WR/ Buffalo Bills: Cleveland-based rapper Chip Tha Ripper has a song titled “Buffalo Bill$” and it has absolutely nothing to do with football but the beat is hypnotizing and Chip says “Gotta pay those ice-cold Buffalo Bills”. And Gabriel Davis has been cashing checks since John Brown went down with an injury. Davis was wide open for his TD and could have had another one if Josh Allen didn’t overthrow him on what would have been a long score. He’s reached the end zone in each of his last 3 games and 4 of his previous 5. According to Yahoo!, he currently ranks near the top of the league in both average targeted air yards (14.7) and average separation (3.4), so he’s an explosive player seeing high-yield targets. Weeks 15 & 16: @ Broncos and @ Patriots
