2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Trae Barry, TE, Jacksonville State University

Trae Barry is a 6’7 tight end from Summerdale, Alabama. He was a 2-star recruit for Spanish Fort High School and helped lead his team to a 10-3 overall record his senior year. He split time at quarterback, tight end and wide receiver for the Toros.
He was also a track and basketball member as well. He had a handful of offers, but chose the Gamecocks over several schools like Arkansas State, Troy and Lamar University.
In his freshman year he appeared in 11 games as a tight end. He was a Freshman All-American and made 2nd team All-OVC as a tight end. He caught 10 passes for 243 yards and 3 touchdowns.
In 2018, Barry started 6 games at tight end and played in all 12 games for the Gamecocks. He finished with 32 receptions and 503 yards. He was a first team All-Conference player as well as a sophomore.
Last year, Barry added another 25 receptions for 330 yards and scored once.
I expect a huge year from the massive target. He has former Clemson quarterback Zerrick Cooper throwing to him, and I would not be shocked if he goes for 700 plus yards receiving.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:
Trae Barry is a monster target for the Gamecocks. He is not the best blocker, and may need to gain a little weight, but let me tell you when it comes to being a pass catcher, he has great hands. He is smooth in his route running and he overpowers players at the FCS level. He is a huge target than can be utilized heavily in the redzone. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner
