NFL Draft Diamonds has interviewed some of the best small schoolers to make it to the NFL. Last year our team interviewed over 750 players from NAIA to the FBS. This year we went to NFL teams scouts for every question on this interview. Ten NFL scouts who are avid readers of Draft Diamonds put this interview together for our reader’s pleasure. Tell us about your hometown, and what you love most about it?
- I was born in Dallas, Texas and my favorite thing about being home is how supportive everyone is here
List these three in order of importance and why: Film Study, Strength and Conditioning and Practice?
- Film study, because as long as your mentally prepared you always have a chance, Practice because you have the ability to better yourself on the field, Strength, and Conditioning because you are able to improve yourself
What do you worry about, and why?
- I worry about my mom because she is the most important person to be and if she isn’t happy no one is happy.
Give me an example of when you failed at something. How did you react and how did you overcome failure?
- I was struggling in my physics class as a freshman. I realized to pass I was gonna need help so my friends and I created a study group and we all ended up passing.
What do your teammates say is your best quality?
- My teammates say that my passion is my strongest suit as I give my all in every practice as well as the game.
Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?
- I played against Austin Ekeler the running back for the Chargers.
What would your career be if you couldn’t play football?
- I would want to own my own personal training company
Room, desk, and car – which do you clean first?
- Room
If there was a disaster and you could either save three strangers or one family member, which would you choose and why?
- I’m doing everything I can to save all of them.
If you could be any television or movie character, who would you be and why?
- Superman, he can do everything
What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?
- Not having a father figure was a significant obstacle that I was able to overcome by trusting in gods plan and relying on my mother.
What is your most embarrassing moment?
- When I got dunked on in a JV basketball game.
What was the most memorable play of your collegiate career?
- When I caught my first career pick 6 and the way my team reacted.
What song best describes your work ethic?
- Never Scared-Bonecrusher
What is the most important trait you can have (Physical or Non-Physical) to help you succeed at the next level?
- By far my confidence as no matter the situation I believe I will be able to accomplish the task at hand.
If you could bring one person back from the dead for one day, who would it be and why?
- My Grandfather, just so he could see how far I have come as a man.
If you were to open a dance club, what would you name it?
- Club Sauce
Who is the most overrated player in the NFL?
- No one is overrated they are there for a reason and are able to perform every weekend
Would you rather be liked or respected, and why?
- Would much rather be respected because it goes so much further in life.
What player who had his career derailed by off-field issues do you feel for the most and why?
- Johnny Manziel just because he was so good but just couldn’t get his social life together.
Do you love to win, or hate to lose?
- I by far hate to lose because I don’t work all week to lose.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life and explain why?
- My Mom, she has just shown me how to overcome so much and anytime things get hard I just think of her and it makes me push through.
