Scouting Report
Redwood is an exciting slot CB/ KR player to keep an eye on!!!
From a very small school Mercyhurst U, your not likely to hear his name called on draft day but much like so many other slot DB’s and Receivers alike that find their way into a camp for their speed and toughness in ST play. He could be a gunner or returner at the next level with explosive speed good body movement to shake defenders and the physicality to break tackles or get off blocks.
As a CB he possesses the skill set to jam wide outs off the line. Covers pass catchers close while playing and tracking the ball extremely well. Good vertical game can time , go up to knock passes down or disrupt plays with his leaping ability & awesome ball skills.
While he only had 2 INTs, his 14 PBUs is a sign that he is around the ball making plays on the regular.
Physical with a great burst against the run not afraid to make a tackle. When he makes an INT, he has the jets to gain plenty of yards.
His vision acceleration ,elusiveness lower body strength in the return game are very noticable. Full speed runs thru and around would be tacklers to put his team in good field position.
Can see his track and field experience the right coaching staff or organization should be able to harness this young man’s talent.
See him as a Nickel or Slot CB and ST ace as a pro. Glad to be able to shine a spotlight on this exciting, fast, hardnose local DB. With the right exposure and a consistent senior season very well could be fighting for a roster spot this time next year .
