Tim Tebow will sign a minor league deal with the New York Mets
Tim Tebow in the Big Apple?
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Tebow, who spent one year as a punt protector and backup quarterback with the Jets, will sign a minor league contract with the Mets.
Tebow will head to the Instructional League or Arizona Fall League next, according to ESPN.
Tebow played for the Jets in an ill-fated 2012 season, his last in the NFL.
The 29-year-old announced last month that he wanted to attempt a baseball career with his football dream all but over. He drew mixed reviews in front of scouts at a California workout last week in front of 28 MLB teams.
