Lions running back Ameer Abdullah is done for the year
The Detroit Lions are down a running back now. Theo Riddick, Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner become the top three backs to replaced Abdullah.
The Detroit Lions placed running back Ameer Abdullah on the reserve-injured list with a foot injury Wednesday, keeping him out of the lineup for at least eight weeks and pushing Riddick up the depth chart.
Abdullah hurt his left foot on a 24-yard run in the second quarter of a loss Sunday to Tennessee and didn’t return to play. The 2015 second-round pick ran for 101 yards on 18 carries and had five receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown for the Lions (1-1) this season.
