Bills GM Doug Whaley says Marcell Dareus needs to hold up his end of the bargain
The Buffalo Bills gave Marcell Dareus a 100 million dollar contract and since receiving that contract he has been suspended five games. One game last year, and four games this year to start the season. The Bills want better from the man they see as their face of the defense. During an appearance on WGR, General Manager Doug Whaley said that Dareus, who was suspended one game last season, has to “start holding up his end of the bargain.”
“It’s simple,” Whaley said. “This is your livelihood and you have to play by the books. Do I agree with a 65 mile per hour speed limit? In Pennsylvania it’s 70, but it’s 65 in New York. You have to abide by the rules if you want to make this your livelihood so you obviously throw it in his lap. What is your end game? Do you want to be a guy that violates the rules and out of the league in a couple of years? Or do you want to be a guy that ends up having your jersey retired like Bruce Smith?”
Should Bills be pissed? I think they have every right to be…..
