Former 49ers offensive lineman believes Blaine Gabbert will start in San Fran

Alex Boone left in the off-season to join Minnesota Vikings, but the former 49ers guard was asked about the quarterback position in San Fran and he had no problem answer questions about it. Boone may no longer be on the team, but he was able to play with both Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert last year, and he believes that Gabbert will take over as the starter.
“To be honest I think that Blaine did a great job last year,” new Vikings guard Alex Boone told me from the field at U.S. Bank Stadium on Thursday, “and from what I know of Blaine, I think he’s probably gonna take the reins. I mean I think he’s a good guy, he knows what he’s doing out there, and he just has the support of the group so I think that’s one of the things to look forward to.”
