Classy Move; Anquan Boldin refuses to take number 81 in Detroit out of respect
Anquan Boldin has been a pretty amazing wide receiver over the years, and when he was recently signed by the Detroit Lions to replace Calvin Johnson, the man who wore #81 his entire career was asked what number he would take. Boldin said he refused to take number 81 and will play with the number 80.
“For me, it’s a respect thing,” Boldin said. “I think everybody knows what Calvin Johnson means to this community, to this organization. So for me, I didn’t even want to go down the road. So just out of respect, I didn’t even ask about it.”
I think this is as classy as you can get. Great response Anquan.
